Roleplay Rules
Roleplay is one area where there will be no negotiation. Our goal is to provide a mature, respectful, and enjoyable roleplay environment where everyone can tell great stories without unnecessary conflict or out-of-character drama.
Over the years, Conan Exiles roleplay has earned an unfortunate reputation due to toxic communities, forced interactions, and unnecessary drama. We believe roleplay can be much more than that. Our aim is to help bring meaningful roleplay back by creating a community built on respect, creativity, and cooperation, where players feel comfortable developing stories together rather than competing to "win" roleplay.
We do not use dice systems, PvP, or other mechanics to resolve roleplay disputes. Instead, we expect players to act in good faith, respect one another, and follow the established roleplay guidelines. Our RP rules are heavily inspired by the standards of established communities such as Second Life roleplay, with a strong focus on consent, cooperation, and creating enjoyable stories for everyone involved.
If your goal is to grief other players, force unwanted roleplay, create toxic situations, or seek satisfaction at the expense of someone else's enjoyment, Stardust Saga is not the right server for you.
The Roleplay Rules are enforced seriously. Failure to follow them will result in removal from both the server and our Discord community.
Please read the rules below carefully before participating in roleplay. By joining our community, you agree to uphold these standards and help us create the welcoming, story-driven experience that roleplay in Conan Exiles deserves.
Roleplay Rules
GENERAL RULES:
NO MIC RP, this means ONLY Text RP
RP IS OPTIONAL:
Never engage in RP unless someone is in a RP Hub/ OOC consent was given free of will (aka not forced).
By entering our server you agree to our RP Rules, not following our rp rules will get you an immediate ban. RP drama is toxic and we will not stand for a toxic server. Break the rules = Ban
We will REQUIRE logs: Your "honesty" is not enough. When you feel that someone isnt complying with the rules, you need to take screenshots. We will not ban people because you don't like them.
ALWAYS open a private Admin Ticket for roleplay "problems". If we find it in any other channel we will delete and ignore it.
RP SPECIFIC RULES:
No God-Modding:
You cannot force an action upon another character or the environment without that player's consent. For example, you can describe "attempting" to slap someone, but you cannot decide for them that they were hit or how they reacted.
No Meta-Gaming:
Your character can only act on information they have learned "In-Character" (IC). Using "Out-of-Character" (OOC) knowledge (using the mini-map to find someone, or using information from a DM) is considered cheating.
No Power-Gaming:
Do not give your character overpowered or god-like abilities that take away from others' enjoyment. This includes making your character invincible or "auto-dodging" every attack.
Separation of IC and OOC:
Distinguish between your character's actions and yourself as a player. Use brackets (( like this )) or [[ like this ]] for OOC chat in local channels, only if needed, otherwise use the RP(OOC) chat for OOC.
No "Bleeding":
Do not let IC conflicts affect your OOC relationship with a player, and vice versa. If a character is rude to your character, it does not mean the player behind them is being rude to you
RP Actions have RP Consequences:
You are not allowed to avoid IC conflict if your character created actions that would require it.
Mind reading:
Unless OOC consent is given, mind-reading is not allowed. This goes both ways: DO NOT emote what your character is thinking, and DO NOT interpret someone else's thoughts. Why? This is one of the biggest contributors to blurring the lines between IC and OOC. You have to be either a veteran roleplayer or a genius to keep track of what was thought versus what was said, and 90% of people don't fit into either category.
NEVER RP IN GLOBAL:
No, we offer free choice! smiles /[smiles]/ /me smiles is an emote, only emote in the RP(IC) channel. You have plenty of options in OOC, for example : Lol, 😂 , or rofl. Dont meow or talk like an animal, keep that for the RP channels. We are all normal human beings in Global.
RP MONITORING ONLY PERTAINS TO THE INGAME SERVERS AND OUR OFFICIAL RP CHANNELS ON DISCORD:
This means that if you choose to go in a whisper in In-game Chat or on Discord into a private DM and RP we cannot intervene, our responsibility stops when you stop RPing in game RP Channels or our official Discord Server. However if you feel harassed, please open a ticket.
